| KYS Reports from the United States Boat Show-Annapolis, M.D. |
 |
October 8, 2005
Karma Yacht Sales recently attended the United States Sailboat Show held in Annapolis Maryland. Cloudy weather and rain did not dampen the spirits of the attendees who were there to see the U.S. premier of the new Beneteau 523. The boat was the most popular new Beneteau at the show and drew long lines for a showing. In the First Series, The 36.7 on display sported the new changes: anodized black mast and boom, Harken Carbo luff foil and lighter Moabi interior. These are permanent changes to the 36.7 should continue to enhance its value on the market as well as provide it with a distinct look on the racecourse.
The Boat show coincided with the Annual Beneteau Dealer’s meeting. The meeting was informative and well received, as dealers from all over the Americas were in attendance. Guest speakers, Russ Bowler and Bruce Farr of Farr Yacht Design, the world’s most distinguished (and busiest) designers in the industry today briefed the group on their latest projects. Beneteau has contracted with them to design several new models for the future. As most of you know, their current designs include all of Beneteau First series boats. We learned that Beneteau has hired a new quality control service manager, which should make the commissioning process at the dealer level go more smoothly.
